| Lions down Mariemont, 31-7 By: Staff Submitted: 9/4/2009 Garrett Myers and Brian Mazzaro connect to leads Lions to 31-7 win over Mariemont. Chris Sheldon and Bill Gantzer call the action. Myers threw touchdown passes of 31 and 32 yards to Mazzaro and rushed for 104 yards in 15 carries and two touchdowns to lead the Lions to their second straight win to open the 2009 season. With the defense keying on Andrew Nealan, last week's WLWT player of the week, senior tailback Mike Maupin made the Warriors pay by rushing for 123 yards in 13 carries. Nealan managed 52 yards in 12 carries and a touchdown. Senior Brandon Branson led the Lions on defense with six tackles, including three for losses.
